Totally frowning because a pillow is not an acceptable surrogate for a lap.
Getting ready to blanket Baltimore with Leslie flyers in the new year…send me an email at adoptlesliehope@gmail or drop a hint in my askbox if you’ve got a suggestion for prime posting locations in your hood/at your college/places of business you frequent. I’m ready to kick it into high gear!

So, essentially, what Roland Park coffee shops are there with a bulletin board/which community associations will let me buy ad space in their newsletters?

i know the evergreen has a really solid bulletin board… that’s about all i’ve got. good luck lesliehope!

Location: Lexington Market, Baltimore, MDRating: 4.8/5Description: In this guy’s defense, I’ve been tempted to do this to a Faidley’s crab cake a number of times. Great submission, near perfect lean except he’s hanging onto the side of the table like it’s an “oh-shit” handle in a sports car.
I LOVE Lexington Market! not only does it supply about 60% of the pictures to this blog, but it also provides one of the most unique, exciting, and sporadically terrifying eating experiences anywhere in the US. It’s the kind of market that would beat up Boston’s Faneuil Hall, steal it’s lunch money, and then fuck it’s prom date. Lexington Market is just that badass.
Half the people you see in the market work at the nearby University of Maryland Medical Center, the premier shock trauma hospital in the country, and the other half haven’t worked since the 80’s when Baltimore lost the Colts and they lost all reason to live. This is probably one place in the world you have equal chances or running into the top ER surgeon in the world and his future gunshot victim under the same roof, and it’s that lack of seperation that make Baltimore the city I love.

DAILY PIC: This is a still from “The Two Planets,” a lovely series of videos by the Thai artist Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook, which just opened at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. (Click on the image to watch a video clip). Rasdjarmrearnsook went out into the Thai countryside with reproductions of great works of Western art, and got the locals to respond to them. As far as these rice farmers are concerned, Millet’s famous gleaners are hunting for bugs, and the haystacks in the background are trees made of straw. So much for the old cliche about art’s universality.

i’d love to check this out baaaabeeee (8/11-11/18)

And you may find yourself on Flickr.there was just something about this that struck me. i think it’s that as soon as i came upon it i knew immediately what it was, whoever had spent the night there, transformed this place into a bed, with nothing but free newspapers.
they could have simply slept on the brick, or used the newspapers as a padding for their head, but instead they really took the form of a bed, and created one.
