Carissa and I got a chance to watch “Love Free of Die” a bio-doc about this man, Bishop Gene Robinson, last night. I can’t tell you how important it is to have someone like this as a leader in our community. As both a queer person and a person of faith, I’ve always felt on the outside of each community. Can’t talk too much about Christ to the gays, and certainly cannot talk too much about Gays to the Christians. Until now. Every word this man said regarding his faith resonated with me and brought me closer to tears. He’s opening a dialogue and he’s opening a door.
“We are only asking that we be allowed to do this in our own context, which is admittedly different to that of most of the world” - Gene Robinson
